Boslandtrail

Are you ready for the BoslandTrail? Whether you're walking or running it, and whether you choose the short or (ultra)long distance, with the Runners' lab tips, you'll be well prepared at the start.

The right trail- or active walking shoes

For the runners
The BoslandTrail is mostly off-road, with single tracks and forest paths. That means mud and uneven terrain. To handle these conditions more easily, thrail running shoes are recommended. â€‹

For the active walkers

Choose the right active walking shoes. We don't mean heavy hiking boots, as their weight will only cause discomfort on the BoslandTrail. The walking shoes that Runners' lab recommend, are based on running shoes: they are lightweight, breathable, and sporty, while still providing enough grip on uneven, muddy forest paths. Ideal for a walk like the BoslandTrail.

Hydration systems

During a trail run, there are often fewer aid stations. That's why it's important to bring your own drinks. Especially if you choose to walk, or opt for the ultra disctance - where you'll naturally be out for longer - having your own hydration is highly recommended.

There are different hydration systems that help you stay hydrated during your effort. The most common are soft flasks or running vests. Running vests also offer space for other essentials such as bars, gels, a jacket, and more.

Breathable clothes

August can be quite warm, so breathable clothing is definitely a must. For runners and walkers tackling the 50 or 100 kilometers: mornings and nights can still be fairly cool. An extra layer is therefore a good idea - just make sure it's something you can easily take off once the sun comes out.

Bringing your own energy supply on the go is never a bad idea. There will be aid stations, but a bar, gel, or sports drink can help prevent an unexpected energy dip.

Running lamps

Are you taking on the 100 kilometers. Then you'll be starting at night, in the dark, and a headlamp is strongly recommended to ensure your safety. At Runners' lab, we offer a selection of headlamps that are comfortable to wear and provide plenty of light to illuminate your path. The big advantage of a headlamp is that the light moves with your line of sight.
