De Runners' lab Meerdaalwoud Trail is largely off-road. To handle these conditions more easily, trail running shoes are recommended.

Hydration systems 

 

The Runners' lab Meerdaalwoud Trail is a cupless event. This means there will be no plastic cups available at the aid stations, so bring your own soft cup or flask

During a trail run, there are often fewer aid stations than at a road race. That's why it's handy to bring your own hydration. Several hydration systems exist. The most common are soft flasks or running vests. Vests also offer space for other essentials such as gels, bars, a jacket...

Breathable clothing, adapted to the weather

December might be very cold, and chances are it's rainy or snowy. Be prepared for all conditions. The best advice we can give: dress up in layers. Start with a baselayer, add a shirt, and finish with a (waterproof) jacket or vest.

Going for the longer distance? Extra energy along the way is definitely a must. A gel, energy bar, or sports drink is far from a luxury.
