RUNNERS'LAB Carbomix
Hypertonic energy drink
The ideal carb loader
In the days leading up to race day, it's wise to load up on carbohydrates. This way, you'll arrive in the start box with a maximum of energy reserves. Since it often takes a lot of pasta, bread, or rice to meet the recommended carb intake, carb loaders are the perfect alternative to reach those levels of carbs.
Runners' lab has developed its own sports nutrition brand, including a carb loader. This hypertonic sports drink sources its carbohydrates from maltodextrin (90%) and fructose (10%), and it contains 0,3% salt per serving.
What is carboloading?
Carb loading, also known as carbohydrate stacking, is a technique to prepare your body for a long and intense event (think of a marathon, ironman, or other endurance race). You do this by increasing your carbohydrate intake in the days leading up to the event, to replenish your glycogen stores. This way, you're fully fueled at the starting line with as much energy as possible, so you avoid fatigue during the race.
