Avoid chafing during running

Let's break the taboo: chafing during running is a common irritation that many runners experience. Do you sometimes suffer from chafing while running? Chances are, lack of knowledge has somthing to do wit hit. With the right clothing and care products, you'll probably no longer encounter this problem. 

The right clothing to prevent chafing during running

Wearing the right clothing during your runs can be an easy way to eliminate annoying chafing. Here are a few general tips: 

  • Wear clothing with smooth seams. 
  • Avoid cotton. 
  • Make sure your clothing fits snugly around your body. 


Chafing on...

... your tights? Wear snug shorts or compression tights. The compression prevents your thights from rubbing against each other. Prefer looser shorts? Go for a 2-in-1 short. It has an inner layer that provides extra protection for your tights. 

... your groin? Moisture-wicking underwear can be the solution. Replace cotton with a synthetic alternative, as this material draws moisture an sweat away from your skin

... your armpits? Make sure you're wearing the right sports bra, especially if you're using a supportive bra with underwires, which can rub against your armpits. ...your feet, heels, or ankles? This is likely caused by your socks or running shoes. Make sure your wear the right shoes, suited to your running pattern and feet.
