Sports bras (37 products)
Thay might be the case, but it's certainly not always true. A regular bra can fit a bit looser, but a sports bra needs a firmer underband. The most important thing is to try the bra on.
Sports bras differ in their level of impact: low, medium, and high impact. For yoga, a low or medium impact sports bra is sufficient, suitable for activities with minimal breast movement. Running, on the other hand, is a high-impact sport and therefore requires a high-impact sports bra. This type keeps the breasts secure during excessive movement and provides extra support to prevent damage to your breasts.
Encapsulated bras - with two separate, encapsulated cups that have their own compartments and don't touch each other - are a good option. Runners' lab offers a wide range for every body, from cup A to K and with band sizes from 65 to 110. We also have sports bras that combine larger band sizes with smaller cups.
It's best to avoid a compression bra. This type of sports bra flattens everything, causing the breasts to spill out at the top and sides. It also presses the breasts together, which can lead to more sweating and an increased risk of chafing.
Crossed shoulders traps - also known as a racerback - provide a slightly firmer feel. They offer support at the bottom and sides, distributing the support across the entire chest area, which relieves the shoulders. However, the racerback isn't always the best choice. Straight shoulder straps are easier to adjust. In addition, bras with crossed straps can be harder to put on, especially for women with a larger cup size.
A sports bra typically lasts for about 200 washes. Proper care can extend its lifespan. After each run, rinse the bra thoroughly, place it in a separate laundry bag in the washing machine, and avoid using fabric softener.
Make sure the band fits snugly around your body so it doesn't ride up. This band provides most of the support. Also, ensure that your breasts are fully enclosed by the cups - there should be no gaps at the top or sides of the bra. Finally, pay attention to the shoulder straps. Ideally, they shouldn't be too narrow, or they may dig in. Crossed straps provide extra support.

What type of sports bra should I choose?
Do you prefer a high support in a sports bra, or do you prefer one with minimal support? What is your correct cup size and bra size? Are you opting for a bra with crossed or straight shoulder straps? You can also choose between a bra in one piece or one with separate cups. There are many aspects that determine what a comfortable sports bra is for you. Everything depends on your body and preferences.
What should I keep in mind when buying a sports bra?
Contrary to what many think, it's not the shoulder straps that provide the most support, but the band around the chest. So, make sure it fits snugly around your body and doesn't ride up. Additionally, ensure that your breasts are well-contained by the cups. There should be no openings at the top or sides of the bra. Lastly, the shoulder straps are important. Ideally, they shouldn't be too narrow, or they'll dig in. Crossed straps provide extra support. For your own comfort, it's also advisable to choose a bra with well-hidden seams. This helps avoid chafing and irritation.
