For comparison: a conventional running shoe consists of dozens of separate components that are stitched and glued together. A shoe made with On Lightspray™ is one single piece.

On CloudTec® (Sphere)
The On CloudTec® is known for its distinctive openings in the midsole of almost every On running shoe. These Clouds aren't there just for show. They are a deliberate design choice.
CloudTec® technology is a cleverly engineered cushioning system in which each Cloud is individually designed to create a specific running experience. They adapt to your individual movements and absorb the impact of each landing.
CloudTec® Sphere is the latest generation of cushioning and takes a different approach from traditional Clouds. Instead of multiple Clouds, there is now a single gap between the forefoot and midfoot. This improves running efficiency while delivering superior cushioning and energy return.
