Active Walking (141 products)

Road walking: we take the typical Dodentocht walker as an example, but city trippers or recreational walkers fall into this category, too. In short: walkers who cover kilometers on asphalt and therefore expect a comfortable and durable shoe. The high-quality midsole and wear-resistant rubber outsole deliver on these expectations.

Trail walking: lovers of off-road paths and forest trails are best off with a walking shoe that provides enough traction. This way, you stay steady on your feet in mud or on wet, uneven surfaces.

Mid walking: mid walking shoes have a higher cut around the ankle for extra support and stability. They also protect your ankles from puddles or sharp branches.

It depends on the type of walk. Do you cover long distances on asphalt, or do you prefer trail and forest paths? In both cases, we recommend an active walking shoe. They are lighter and therefore more comfortable for long walks. The good cushioning in these shoes also reduces the strain on your body, while the lugs on the sole provide excellent grip. A walk in the Ardennes? Active walking shoes to the rescue!

Are you heading into high mountains or planning glacier hikes? Then robust mountaineering boots with a stiff sole are more suitable.

A water-repellent shoe - one with GORE-TEX - protects your feet from wet conditions in rainy weather. A downside is that these shoes are less breathable due to the water-repellent layer. Nowadays, many shoes come with GORE-TEX invisible, which offers some breathability compared to traditional GORE-TEX.

A walking shoe without GORE-TEX, and therefore not waterproof, will not keep out water in wet conditions. You might choose this type for your summer walks, as these shoes have greater breathability, keeping your feet cooler and more comfortable.

Differences in active walking

Ask yourself where and how you plan to walk. For walks on paved surfaces such as asphalt, our road walking shoes are ideal. Prefer tackling challenging trails in nature? Then we recommend our trail walking shoes. For extra protection, we also offer mid walking shoes
